– Gives Blenz Customers an Opportunity to Support Maëlle by Simply Enjoying Great Coffee –

Ricker, a two-time Olympian in Snowboard Cross (2006) and Halfpipe (1998, 2006) was the 2008 Snowboard Cross Crystal Globe winner as the World Cup Overall points leader and has made a strong start to the 2009-10 season with a first place finish in September at the first FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup in Argentina.

Blenz was attracted to Maëlle not only because she is a veteran and role model on the Canadian National Snowboard team and a leading force in women’s snowboarding – she’s also a Blenz customer.

“As a Canadian company, it’s great to support our community on behalf of the thousands of Blenz customers, and we’re proud to partner with Maëlle. She’s an ambitious and talented local athlete who also understands and lives our brand and is hoping to do something great for Canada in 2010,” said Brian Noble, director and co‐founder of Blenz Coffee.

Maëlle is excited about the partnership with a BC-based company that fits seamlessly into her life as a snowboard athlete. “Sipping coffee in the morning before riding powder all day until my legs feel like they’re going to fall off and then winding down with a hot chocolate from Blenz is a perfect day,” said Maëlle. “I’m very happy to partner with Blenz for some extra fuel going into the Olympics this year.”

Blenz is also giving its customers an opportunity to put their support behind Maëlle by releasing a Limited Edition West Coast Winter Roast this winter season and will be available until the end of February 2010. “Every time our customers buy the West Coast Winter Roast, they’ll be enjoying great coffee in support of a great Canadian athlete,” added Brian Noble.

Maëlle will be providing exclusive updates on her training and competitions at www.blenzblog.com.

About Maëlle Ricker
Maëlle Ricker is a 13-year veteran of the Canadian National Snowboard Team, and is a trailblazer for women’s snowboarding, competing at both the inaugural snowboarding Halfpipe event at the 1998 Nagano Olympic Games where she finished fifth, and the first-ever Snowboard Cross event at the 2006 Torino Games finishing fourth.

Blenz Coffee Co-Branded Gift Card Program

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Say It NOW! Partners with Blenz Coffee through Co-Branded Gift Card Program

When promotional products company, Say It NOW! says “Thank you for your business,” they say it with a co-branded Blenz Card.

Vancouver, BC – December 3, 2009

Anne Stadnyk incorporated Say It NOW!, a promotional products company, in Coquitlam, BC in 2004 with one goal being to help her son get a university degree, get drafted into the MLB, or both, by providing her customers outstanding service. She developed the company through networking, and over the years has added strategic alliances throughout the British Columbia Lower Mainland. And when Say It NOW! says “Thank You for your business,” they say it with a co-branded Blenz Card.

co-branded gift card

With the co-branded gift card, very simply any business or organization can have their own brand on the front of the Coffee Gift Card with a small Blenz Logo being placed in a corner. The card is acceptable in all Blenz stores for any purchase, and can come pre-loaded in various dollar amounts through the Blenz Store Support Centre, or loaded and re-loaded by phone. The card can be given out as a “Thank you” to clients and customers, as Anne has shown, or used as a promotional tool, or it can be given as a recognition or reward to staff and employees, as a “Thank you” for referrals, or as an appreciation for services being offered or provided. In fact, new applications are appearing almost daily.

Says Anne, “When my customers’ orders are complete, I mail them a “Thank you for your business” card. I used to include a Blenz Gift Card for a special coffee or tea on me. Now, I get to send them my very own personal Say It NOW Gift Card for that special coffee or tea on me. The best part is my customers will keep this card in their wallet, which allows me to add a special coffee or tea whenever I choose to AND my customers constantly see MY logo and business information whenever they open up their wallets. That’s what I call a win/win all the way around!”

Blenz West Kelowna is out to expand the nightlife…

Come for the coffee, stay for the music

Exploring West Kelowna’s nightlife doesn’t take long, but in an effort to change that, Chris Dyck is going local.

Dyck, the assistant manager at Blenz coffee shop in West Kelowna has an idea, and it’s all based around music and art created and performed by West Kelowna’s artistic minds.

“I live in Kelowna but I work out of West Kelowna and what I have noticed is the night life here is really one dimensional,” said Dyck. “There is not a lot of entertainment unless you want to go to the pub, so I want to give people something that will make them stay on this side of the bridge.”

That something is music and art.

Beginning tonight, Blenz will host local musicians on a weekly basis where performers will have an opportunity to showcase their skills. For Dyck, the idea combines a love for the community with a strong business sense.

“After a certain part of the day, once the box stores around us close, we are forgotten,” he explained. “So we thought about what we need and what does the area need and I think we all need a little more life here.”

So to inject more entertainment into West Kelowna, Blenz will push around chairs and tables in order to accommodate musician Jeff Pike, who will kick off the first of what Dyck hopes to be many nights filled with music. Pike, who is a part of the band Windborn, will play acoustic guitar for approximately an hour.

“He’s played here before, when my family took over the store,” said Dyck, whose parents own and operate the West Kelowna Blenz location. “Basically his music is laid back and that is the atmosphere we are trying to create.”

But Dyck’s vision doesn’t end with music.

“Music and art go hand-in-hand,” he said. “We have had a lot of local artists approach us to put their work in our shop. But I want to do better than that. Instead of rotating art every week, I thought we could showcase their work too.”

Dyck plans on expanding the showcases to two nights a week, but said that Blenz would first see how December works out, before increasing the number of shows in January.

The first showcase, with Pike as its entertainer, begins at 7 p.m. tonight at the Blenz coffee shop, with no charge for admission.
