Blenz brings back a seasonal favourite – Pumpkin Spice Latte

Vancouver, BC – October 5, 2009 This fall, Blenz Coffee will be launching their late fall drink promotion with the Pumpkin Spice Latte – an all-time favourite beverage for this season.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes are popular amongst coffee houses during this time of year. The seasonal favourite is back, and Blenz is doing it their way – naturally and with latte art. At Blenz they use all-natural pumpkin spice flavouring with a touch of cinnamon to add zest and colour to the latte. The rich creamy espresso mingled with the spicy flavours of the season will be sure to excite your palate and wake your senses.

“The way we trained the baristas to prepare the Pumpkin Spice Latte makes this drink so special at Blenz,” commented Layla Osberg, director of training at Blenz Coffee. “We’re glad we are able to bring something unique while maintaining the traditional taste of the beverage.”

This seasonal drink will be available at all BC Blenz Coffee locations for a limited time.

Blenz Davie – Friends & Neighbours Party, hosted by Biju Tamrakar

Biju Tamrakar, the new franchisee at the Blenz store at Davie & Bute, opened his store for the later part of the afternoon on Thursday, September 17th, to host a party for his Friends and Neighbours, to introduce himself and his staff to the local area market. The store was decorated with flowers and balloons, and Ken Couling, the very popular caricaturist, was a particularly popular element of the general party atmosphere. A naturally affable guy, Biju was happy to chat with everyone who stopped in to congratulate him and wish him luck in his new venture.

Blenz Coffee opens their sixth Okanagan location in Vernon

Vernon, BC – July 22, 2009    The newest Blenz Coffee location opened today in the heart of downtown Vernon, marking their sixth location in the Okanagan and their 54th in BC. Now Vernonites too can enjoy the warm atmosphere and handcrafted beverages that Blenz Coffee is renowned for.

 

This particular location was previously an independent coffee house called El Portillo, owned by the current franchised partners Trevor and Caroline Koenig. Over the last few days, the employees have been transformed into Blenz baristas and the store converted into Blenz Coffee. It is by far the largest Blenz Coffee in BC with three separate seating areas, a spacious patio, and their own parking lot, making it a destination for locals and travellers alike.

The Koenigs were always fans of Blenz Coffee. When they moved to Vernon a little over a year ago they could not find a Blenz Coffee location to purchase right away so they bought El Portillo, hoping that one day they will become a part of the Blenz Coffee family. Now the whole family – Trevor, Caroline, and their two children Ashley and Ryan – are part of the team, raising the bar in the coffee house scene in Vernon. Trevor and Caroline are both graduates of the extensive Blenz Coffee Franchisee Training Program which has equipped them well to serve high quality beverages to Vernonites.


“Caroline and I are pleased to have our existing coffee business transform into Blenz Coffee,” said Trevor, raving about everything Blenz Coffee. “To know that the operating system is tried and tested and to have the support of a franchise is a huge asset to us. We look forward to introducing Blenz Coffee to the community of Vernon, one we are proud to be part of.”

“We know their enthusiasm for business and passion for coffee will play a major part in their success in Vernon,” commented David McDougall, co‐master franchisor of Blenz Coffee Okanagan, commending and welcoming the new Blenz Coffee franchisees. His business partner Graham Hawkins agrees, stating that their downtown Vernon location is already a well‐known coffee destination.

Blenz Coffee in downtown Vernon will be open from 6am to 10pm every day with Open Mic Nights every Monday featuring local musicians. In addition to the downtown location, Blenz Coffee will be opening up another location in North Vernon, which will also be operated by the Koenigs.

Blenz Coffee Opens Up for South Okanagan Residents and Visitors

Blenz The Canadian Coffee Company Ltd. proudly announces the grand opening of Blenz – Penticton, the 5th Blenz location in the Okanagan region and the 54th Blenz location in British Columbia.

  Penticton, BC – June 25, 2009. Nancy and Brett DeWitt opened the door to their new Blenz Coffee shop in Penticton today with a Grand Opening Celebration, and invited the entire community to the party. “Nancy and I are pleased to have our Blenz Coffee business located in Penticton. It’s a community we are proud to be part of. We love the coffee business, and we look forward to being part of the Penticton business community too,” says Brett.
Nancy and Brett were excited to welcome their Penticton neighbours to their new Blenz store which has been carefully designed to provide a warm and contemporary ambiance where customers are encouraged to gather and relax, enjoy their beautifully handcrafted quality beverages and treats, and where they can also enjoy use of the free wireless internet and share in a conversation and a smile.

Nancy completed the rigorous six-week Master Barista training program at Blenz Coffee Academy in Vancouver, finishing the course with flying colours. Fellow BCA star, Carol Dyck, who recently took over Blenz in West Kelowna, was happy to make the trip to the Grand Opening of the Blenz – Penticton. Photographers were on hand as the two celebrated Nancy’s launch with hugs and thumbs up.
Blenz Master Franchisor for the Okanagan region, David McDougall, was enthusiastic about this newest addition to the Okanagan franchise. “We are very pleased that Nancy and Brett DeWitt have joined the Blenz family as the franchise partner and operators of the new Blenz Coffee store in Penticton. We think their enthusiasm for business and passion for coffee will play a major part in their success in Penticton.” As to the Penticton location, McDougall’s business partner, Graham Hawkins, said, “It’s been a priority for us to locate a Blenz Coffee store in Penticton. It’s a thriving community, and we’re sure that Blenz will be well-received by all the people of the city.”
